Cheating!

PART ONE:

Some methods that students use to cheat are the little papers used to write the most important things they need to know. Some of them, write answers, and important things and clues on the lap (girls if they have skirt), and on their ankle (if its a boy; girls also do it). I have seen also that people use to cheat their cellphones by somebody at the other end, whispering the answer.

Cheating at any time its a very embarrasing situation because if somebody is caught, not only the teacher takes away the exam and puts a 0, but also the disconcert and self - conscious of the person who cheats because is in front of everybody in the classroom. I think cheating its a crime and has to be punished so it can not be repeated at any time. In my opinion, persons can have a second opportunity, but not three.

PART TWO:

I do not agree with people´s arguments about cheating in the article of CNN, because they say that they have so much academic pressure that they have to cheat, thts not a good reason for cheating and the only ones perjudicated are them because they really are not learning. About the survey comment that talks about the integrity to make a good impression, thats totally wrong because you can impress other people by using other intelligences like for example the inter and intrapersonal intelligence. People do not only success in life because of their academic grades, is also because how a person can develop throughout life, in the daily life.

ARTICLE!

Paragraph Summary
Nowadays, people seem very familiar with the Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), because of the lot of children that are padecing them. Persons think that people who have these disorders, can not get still, or even that they do not pay attention to anything, because they live in their world, and they do whatever they want to do. Eventhough in most of the cases, these is true, they can also seem like persons who are very quiet to themselves and in different situations with other persons, "they are in another world". Then, what can we do with people with these disorders? Which are the correct treatments? Causes?
In America, one million children are identified with these two disorders, as a result, most of them, are taking medicine for these reasons, thus a point of disconcert of parents and proffesionals. The Attentional Deficit Disorder is in a fiery way, discussed by all authorities. Some experts, think that ADD syndrome, doesn´t have accesible proofs, so it should be scientificlly eliminated (G. Coles, L. Fleisher and P. Breggin). Other experts, think that this syndrome, comes from a gene, that haves to be with the nervous central system. However, defeaters accept that the fundamental means of ADD is disguised: "There is no single lesion of the brain, no single neurotransmitter system, no single gene we have identified that triggers ADD" (Hallowell and Ratey). Contrariwise, the neuro-biological evidence is the fact that ADD is identified more, in boys than girls and ten times more often in America than in Europe. Actually, in Japan, there aren´t much cases of this syndrome. Finally, by reading this article you can conclude that ADD, is like a puzzle far away from being solved.
My Opinion:
My opinion of this article is that I agree with some experts that they have to entirely discard the idea that this syndrome (ADD) comes from a gene ubicated in the nervous system. The majority of times, like an 80% of the persons diagnosed with it, are because of emotional problems they are having, thats why boys padece it more than girls because boys lifes are more stressedout than girls. I also think that the part of this article that says that some people have to take medicine for these cases, I am in total disagreement, these people have to be treated with psychological and psicoteaching therapy.

IQ Questions!

  • In what ways is a person intelligent?

A person is intelligent because of many characteristics. Eventhough an intelligent person is the one who knows a lot about skills like: logical - mathematics, linguistic, spacial, etc, the person also has to have the capacity and ability to solve problems. In recent studies, researchers have prooven that the intelligence of a person is measured by how he/she moves and developes in the environment, the place where the person lives, and the relationship with the people he/she is related.

  • How would you describe an intelligent person?

An intelligent person is the one who has the abilities and skills to solve problems when they are presented, since the most little one to the largest. The person has to have the capacity of comprehension, to know how to act with other people, and with himself. (multiple intelligence theory: intra - personal, inter - personal relations)

  • Which areas should be taken into account when considering what makes a person intelligent?

The areas have to be at least eight as Howard Gardner says in the Intelligence Multiple Theory:

Verbal-Linguistic, Visual-Spatial, Musical – Rhythmic, Logical-Mathematical, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Naturalist.

  • Which test did you take online and do you think it was a good indicator of your intelligence?

I took the IQ Test, that Erin told us to take: IQtest.com. I think it was a good indicator to measure my intelligence but there wasn´t any questions that could measure my personal part, or kinesthetic. The test needs to be more complete by including more areas, and I also think that the test is more likely about math, than about another things that area really also important.

THE INTERPRETER

Hi. My name is Shirley Chegwin Altamar, I live in Barranquilla, Atlantico in a town called El Poblado. One of my favorite movies of all times is called "The Interpreter", and I`m going to do a movie review about this movie. I saw it three months ago in the Buenavista Theatre, here in Barranquilla, Colombia. I went to saw it with my husband Juan Carlos, my sister Melissa, and Roberto, my sister`s boyfriend. This movie can be seen from teenagers until adults, its rated PG - 14 because of its complex content and thought-provoking drama. Eventhough I think that people from the age of twelve could see it, because of their interesting principle idea. The type of this movie is a drama/ thriller, because the viewer is exposed to many minutes of suspense and fear. Although I do not know exactly wich day was opened, I know the month, it was on June of this year. The Interpreter, was directed by Sidney Pollack who also directed Cold Mountain. At the same time, when he was directing them, he produced both.

At first in the movie, Silvia Broome (Nicole Kidman), who is an interpreter of the United Nations, overhears a plot of the assasination of a headmaster of Matabo, Africa, because she is the onlyone who knows the language of Ku (Matabo`s native language). In an instant, Silvia´s life is turned upside down when she hears: "The Teacher will never leave this room alive", she becomes a required objective of the killers. Then, she is placed under the protection of federal agents Tobin Keller (Sean Penn) and Dot Woods (Catherine Keener). They doubt about if Silvia is a witness or is she somehow connected to the African head of state. This is a movie that when the viewer sees it, is guessing and guessing of what could happen, as Kidman, Penn and Keener, race to stop a terrifying international crisis before it's too late.

Despite of the characters of Kidman and Penn, that are excellent and adorable, the moments of the movie story are slow and complicated, but it doesn´t really matters because of the dialogue film who is very appealing and attractive, maintaining the spectator in constant comunication with characters, plot, set, time, etc.

Orlando Bloom: Profile!

The birth name of Orlando Bloom is Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom. He was born in Canterbury England, a small city on January 13, 1977. Harry Bloom, his father, died when he was only four years old of a stroke. Eventhough, Orlando and his older sister, Samantha, who also studied drama and music like him, were raised only by her mother, called Sonia.

At the age of eight, Orlando was diagnosed with dislexia. However, he started participating in school plays and was active at his local theater. In 1998, he attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Altough it was there were he fell from a rooftop and broke his back, and inspite of fears that he would be paralyzed for the rest of his life, he recuperated very quickly and returned to school. It was there, when in a drama play, Peter Jackson saw him and said to him that if he could audition for his next movie: The Lords Of The Rings. Consequently, he got the role in the movie, spending 18 months in New Zealand, playing the role of "Legolas".

Nowadays, he has been chosen as one of the most 50 Hottest Stars on Peoples Magazine. He supports English football team Manchester United, despite he can not practice, because of his work. Major film roles in Troy, The Lord of The Rings and coming soon, Elizabethtown.
